Try "Victoria Sponge" for fresh local comedy

Victoria Sponge is a new work by Hull-based writer Catherine Scott which will be performed at two East Yorkshire venues in November.

The play is a comedy about a middle-aged and childless couple, Susan and Clive, who have a bitter/sweet relationship. Past and present frustrations and regrets emerge as they observe a much younger couple moving in next door. As they watch their new, young and virile neighbours, they express their grievances, regrets and desires. Another neighbour is an expert baker and is a thorn in the flesh for Susan. The play ends with a surprising twist.

It will be performed by Catherine and the performance poet/actor Jim Higo. Following the play, they will both be performing a poetry set making this a spoken word evening with a difference.

Dates for the play are:

Thursday 22nd November 2018 at Kardomah 94, Alfred Gelder Streeet, Hull at 7.30 p.m. Tickets £8 available from Kardomah.

Saturday 24th November 2018 at Swanland Village Hall, 7.30 p.m. Tickets are £6, available from Yvonne Dumsday on 01482 634863 and Catherine - 01482 842979.
