Early Music Weekend for Beverley
The Beverley & East Riding Early Music Festival is well underway, bringing a celebration of of music this Bank Holiday weekend.
The spring festival is a celebration of music from London - to Venice - to Vienna, following the European ‘Grand Tour’ and is presented in some of England's finest churches. From the majesty of Beverley Minster to the award-winning heritage centre that is now St James' Warter. This is a season of firsts and extraordinary encounters for the Festival.
Highlights of the festival include rising stars Il Quadro Animato, Lux Musicae London and the University of York's 24 chorus. The National Centre for Early Music's youth instrumental ensemble The Minster Minstrels (pictured) will also perform in Beverley for the first time and are taking part in a community project with Castaway Goole Accessible Music Theatre. With illustrated talks, open public opportunities for recorder players to hone their skills with legendary recorder player Piers Adams, and community concerts featuring some of the most talented individuals from across the Riding, the Beverley & East Riding Festival will bring its usual ray of light to the region.
