New Season of Live Performances for ArtERY and LiveLincs
A new season of live theatre in community venues in East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire brings plays, dance and music to both counties.
ArtERY in the East Riding will see four touring productions and audiences in Northern Lincolnshire can enjoy a total of eight at village halls from March to June. The programme is devised by the social enterprise, Blaize, with Arts Council funding.

A 1950s style horror show will be haunting village halls and venues in East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire as part of a Spring season of live events. Gonzo Moose Theatre Company presents The Thing That Came From Over There. Inspired by old horror movies, the show mixes paranoia, suspense and hilariously gruesome deaths. The show is set in the Antarctica back in 1912 - a meteor has crashed endangering the whole of planet earth! The performance is full of shocks, spine-tingling silliness and blood-curdling terror. It will appear at the following venues:

Point of Echoes - Barton
A breath-taking performance of dance and theatre will kick-start Live Lincs’ spring season of events at Barton-on-Humber.
The show, entitled Point of Echoes, by bgroup and China Plate, is a specially commissioned Rural Touring Dance Initiative and will appear at one venue only in North Lincolnshire – Barton Assembly Rooms.
The performance is set in a lighthouse, known as Echo Point, situated off the coast of England back in 1978. It tells the story of two keepers, Eric Valentine and Bernard Humphries. Isolated from the mainland, the pair strive to form a good working relationship, but find themselves dealing with a series of uncanny events.
Tickets for this highly acclaimed event are sure to sell out fast so those keen to attend are advised to book in advance.

Shoo Shoo Baby: The Great Cabaret Safari
A fun-filled cabaret act which has entertained royalty and well-known celebrities over the years will be shown to audiences in East Yorkshire this spring, as part of ArtERY Live’s new season of events.
Shoo Shoo Baby’s The Great Cabaret Safari Act is a fun-packed show full of great musicianship, with much-loved songs from composers as diverse as Verdi, The Proclaimers, Cole Porter and Queen.
Shoo Shoo Baby has impressed audiences all over the world and have performed on ice, jumped out of cakes and even entertained on stilts before royalty, oligarchs and pop-stars.

Jango Starr
Funny-man, Jango Starr, will delight and amaze family audiences throughout North Lincolnshire as part of Live Lincs’ spring season of events.
Jango will be appearing at four separate venues with his One Man Shoe act. The show follows the story of an ambitious caretaker called Jango. When the headline act fails to show up for a gig at his venue, he is suddenly thrust into the limelight and embarks on a hilarious journey of heart-felt silent comedy as he realises his dream of transforming into a star!

Those looking for a night out for the entire family should snap up tickets for The Bone Ensemble’s "Where’s My Igloo Gone?" This fun and magical show reveals how amazing life can be when people work together, as protagonist Oolik embarks on her journey to save her igloo home. The Bone Ensemble have worked at the National Theatre, the RSC, and in car parks, caravans and Danish piazzas.

Tayo Aluko & Friends will delight audiences with Call Mr Robeson – a Life with Songs. Paul Robeson is a world-famous actor, singer and civil rights campaigner. When he gets too radical and outspoken for the establishment’s liking, he is branded a traitor to his country, is harassed, and denied opportunities to perform or travel. This roller-coaster journey through Robeson’s remarkable life highlights how his political activism led many to describe him as the forerunner of the civil rights movement.

Birkett and Fisk will delight audiences by bringing together their shared knowledge and love of early jazz styles. Emma Fisk and James Birkett present an entertaining mix of jazz violin and guitar. A typical performance includes compositions by Venuti/Lang such as Cheese & Crackers, Sunshine and Black and Blue Bottom; jazz standards of the 20s and 30s; and specially composed originals that explore the duo’s sound-world.
